The RA-7 Protocol Droid was an upgraded protocol droid that was created in the first few months of the Clone Wars. The first RA-7 droid manufactured was 4A-7, who was given to the CIS to test its skills. After testing the droid out, the CIS gave a positive feedback, which allowed the Arakyd Industries to mass produce them. However, the newer models were not as smart as 4A-7, which made most of the other models useless. By the time of the Galactic Civil War, more than half of the droids became extremly rude to their masters, even if they were from the Empire.
