R5-P8 was an R5 series astromech droid that was captured by a band of pirates on the planet Florrum. He was reprogrammed by the pirates to become a security droid to protect the pirate outpost before anyone ( Republic or CIS) could attack them. He was seen trying to blast Anakin Skywalker, Obi-Wan-Kenobi, and Count Dooku while they tried to escape the pirates after being held hostage for a few days.
