The R4 Astromech droid was an upgraded model of the R3 astromech droid and was created to have a newer dome than the past few astromechs. It was manufactured by the Industrial Automation and was supplied with a much higher data base than the R3 model and R2 model together. Famous R4 droids include, M5-BZ, R4-P17, 264, and R4-P22.
