DUM pit droids were a class of droid that repaired speeders, other droids, starships, ect. They could be stored easily by clicking the button on its nose. At that moment, the droid will jump into the air for a second of two then fall to the floor into a rolled up version of itself. Pit Droids were used mostly on Tatooine for podracing. The toydarian junk dealer, Watto owned multiple pit droids to repair old items in his junk shop and thousands were used to repair damaged podracers during events such as the Boonta Eve Podrace. A few pit droids were also used by both the C.I.S. and the Galactic Republic during the Clone Wars and were still around and used during the time of the Galactic Civil War.
