O.M.5. was an B1-Battle Droid created by the Geonosians in 21 BBY during the Second Battle of Geonosis and escorted Geonosian leader Poggle the Lesser along with another battle droid before he was left for dead when he was tossed away by a massive sandstorm.
Droid Design[]
O.M.5. was an standard B1 Battle Droid unit that had his outer platting painted in red and yellow, which was used as camouflage to blend in with Geonosis' deserts.
Droid History[]
During the Second Battle of Geonosis, O.M.5. escorted Poggle the Lesser's Armored Assault Tank with two other battle droids and two winged Geonosian warriors. After losing a munitions crate, O.M.5 and another battle droid began marching behind Poggle's tank. They were caught up in a sandstorm, and were unable to see each other. O.M.5. then fell into the ground as the wind blew harder, and as his remaining fellow droid and Lord Poggle continued to the Progate Temple, O.M.5. tried telling them to not leave him behind. They continued ahead, unable to hear him and determined to reach their destination before Jedi Master Luminara Unduli caught up to them. He then stopped functioning and was buried by the storm, Unduli and clone trooper Buzz would later pass over his body on their BARC speeders.
